Welcome to our second Mar Estradeiro Encontro event! This year we invited a selection of teachers and contramestras of capoeira Angola and the Afro-Brazilian musical tradition. More info

On the 22-24th of November we will organize our Mar Estradeiro Autumn-event again! This time we’ve invited mestre Djop (Escola de CApoeira-Be) to share his knowledge and experience with us!

After last year’s success, come and celebrate the Brazilian Festa de São João together with us! There’s forró, côco, ciranda, Bumba-meu-boi and typical Northeastern food by Mari’s Kitchen! We start with a forró dance workshop by Mandacaru Dance at 20.00h, followed by live forró music by Forrosá, the appearance of Bumba meu Boi Caxinguelê and Mateus, a roda de ciranda and côco. This year with a special kids program in the afternoon!

A whole weekend of capoeira Angola and Afro-Brazilian percussion & dance.

A weekend full of capoeira Angola and Northeastern rhythms and dances from Brazil with contramestre de capoeira, dancer and musician Téco Canindé from Olinda, Brasil (Filhos de Angola) and dancer Ubiracy Santana.

Come and enjoy the music and dance from the Brazilian Northeast! Let yourself be swayed by the Boi Caxinguelê from The Hague, try and keep up with the frevo passistas from Olinda & Recife, dance forró on the live music of Forrosá and thump away on samba de côco. Forrosá is organizing this special evening together with Mandacaru Dance, Teco Canindê and other invited friends from Pernambuco. Vai tocar fogo!

We are happy to welcome treinel Diogo from Associação de Capoeira Lenço de Seda for a workshop in The Hague!

Mestre Célio Gomes (Grupo Aluandê Capoeira Angola) from Rio de Janeiro, will visit the Netherlands for the first time to share some of his experience and knowledge of Capoeira Angola. Mestre Célio Gomes has received his mestre-title from mestre Cobra Mansa, and is founder of and responsible for the Roda de Lavradio in the Lapa neighborhood.

Come celebrate the Brazilian Festa de São João with us! There’s forró, popular dances and typical Northeastern food! We start with a forró dance workshop (entry level) by Mônica Cordeiro (Mandacaru dance) at 20.30h, followed by live forró music by Forrosá, first appearance by Bumba meu Boi Caxinguelê, roda de ciranda and côco.

Mestre Marcelo Angola from the group Angoleiros do Mar, student of mestre Curió, will share with us his knowledge of capoeira Angola.

Mestre Guará (student of mestre Lua) will visit again to share his knowledge and experience in capoeira. Movement, music and a roda.

A day to share with mestre Squisito – researcher, writer and capoeira mestre – who will share a bit of his 50 years of experience in our art.

We will be joining Vier de Natuur Festival with a Maculele workshop on Saturday and a capoeira workshop on Sunday.
